Subsonic rounds for 9mm pcc5/21/2023 ![]() I don't hand-load but maybe I should start?Ģ) Anyone know of other ways to improve stove piping on the MPX? Should I be trying a lighter spring or is that going to create all kinds of other issues? I've read that too-light a spring can cause serious damage or injury types of issues so I've been reluctant to experiment there. But I thought I'd ask here first for a few things:ġ) Anyone know of a relatively "hot" loaded subsonic 9mm round? I'm not an ammo expert but I figure that a heavier bullet (165gr) with a powerful load (just under 1100 fps ideally) would cycle harder and make the ejection more reliable. Still not good enough.Īt this point I'm about to ditch the suppressor and buy a new hand guard, and just call it a failed attempt. Once it heats up, I can go through a mag or two before a jam. This was a big improvement, and initially I was thinking it would cycle with Federal 150gr SynTech, but firing it cold, it still stove pipes 1-2 rounds per 30 rd mag. ![]() Bought the adjustable gas plug from InLeadWeTrust and had him bore out the port to. ![]() Cut the barrel to 7", seemed to be a minor improvement, still nowhere near reliable enough with all kinds of different subsonic ammo. Still cycles very reliably with supersonic ammo (e.g. Threaded on the Osprey to the 16" barrel, instantly started jamming with anything subsonic (regular stovepiping and the occasional FTE). Bought the PCC last year out of the box no cycling issues with any ammo of any kind, from probably 10-15 different super and subsonic loads, 115gr to 158gr, hollow point to fmj and even those plastic round. So quick rundown of what I've done/tried: This is meant to be my home defense weapon so I cannot have it stove piping even one round in a mag. But I have a 2019 MPX PCC, which is SBR'd to 7", with a SilencerCo Osprey 9 suppressor, and for the life of me I can't find ammo or mods that get it to cycle reliably. All my web searching has turned up mostly gen2 MPX issues with cycling/stovepiping.
